Every day we eat and we dress. We are now more conscious of our food – it is time to be more conscious of clothing. Textile Beat promotes a slow clothing philosophy, an holistic approach to dressing that is sustainable, ethical and creative. We believe the practice of dressing well is embodied in the values of what we choose to wear, not just the looks.

We acknowledge the Quandamooka people as the traditional custodians of the land we live and work on at Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island). We pay respect to elders past, present and emerging and respect their continuing culture, customs, wisdom and teachings that nurtured this land for millennia.

We value our First Nations people as being part of the oldest continuing culture in the world and hope for a time when the Australian Government fully and appropriately acknowledges the past.
